About Tessa

In my early 20's, I made the decision to travel.

At the time, I had no money, and no sense of direction, but I knew in my heart that it was something I wanted to do.

To achieve the dream, I took on 4 jobs and worked 80 hour weeks for almost a year so that I could explore the other side of the world.

However, weeks before I was due to leave Cornwall to fly out to Australia, I got sick with glandular fever.

A few days later, I received a call to tell me my tour had been cancelled!

Despite these hiccups, I stubbornly decided that I had worked so hard for so long, that I couldn't just give up on the dream.

So I boarded the plane and set off to the other side of the world to figure it out by myself.

Since that day, I've been lucky to have been able to immigrate to New Zealand.

I have also been hugely fortunate to have travelled to some pretty darn amazing places around the world and tick off many things from my bucket list!

From walking parts of the Great Wall of China to volunteering in an orphanage in Eastern Europe, to taking to the skies to do a wing-walk!

Over the years, I have put myself out of my comfort zone to face several fears that were holding me back from moving forward.

I don't know how my life would have turned out had I not travelled that day, but I do know that some of the most rewarding moments I have had in my life,

have come from allowing myself to scratch the itch that just kept coming back to me.

By listening to the voice buried within, I gave myself the opportunity to try,

to break down those barriers, overcome fear, step outside my comfort zone, and prove to myself that I can actually do this.

My motivational drive has been knowing that my tomorrow may never come and being eternally grateful for reaching the age I am at,

when so many others do not get to live this privilege.

If you are happy with your life, I applaud you.

Smile wide and enjoy these precious moments, because life is so so short.

If you want things to change, and are ready to put in the work to make your dreams a reality, then there is no greater time than now.
